EYCDC FINAL Newsletter!

That's a Wrap!

It's with a heavy heart that we inform you that all Early Years Professional Learning Support Sites, including the Early Years Community Development Centre (EYCDC), have been discontinued due to the provincial budget cuts. 

As we are wrapping our operations on March 31, 2026, we want to let you know how this might affect you as our patron. 

Going Forward:

• The On-Demand Online Professional Development with 18 paid and 5 free courses will continue to be available on our website to help support the PD hours required for ECEs each year. This means that your membership will remain active and will be renewed according to your membership plan. You can find the available sessions and membership access here.
• The EYCDC Resource Lending Library did not go to waste! The materials were sorted through by our teachers and staff to ensure that many materials remained on-site to continue reflecting our values of play, exploration, and diversity and to inspire future generations of ECE students and to support our ECE instructors. The rest of the materials have been donated to centers and other members of the early learning community to help support their work and to be put directly into the hands of children. 
• The NSCECE will continue to support you, so please reach out to the Faculty and Staff with any questions, ideas, and/or concerns.
• The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development will share information about future professional learning opportunities as it becomes available.

It's been a priviledge and an honour to serve you as a community and individuals through offering workshops, professional trainings, and materials from our Lending Library. We hope that you continue your 'most important job in the world' supporting children, families and each other!
