Culturally Responsive Practice (CRP)

12 hours. Online. FREE.

Starts on January 14 

Module 1 - understand the four historical cultures on Nova Scotia, their languages, and beliefs. 

Module 2 - explore and contextualize privileges, biases, and opinions and how these interrelate with discrimination, racism, and moreover, systemic racism. 

Module 3 - explore the different types of reconciliation while acknowledging the need to act now, specifically exploring cultural responsiveness as it relates to Early Learning and Child Care Settings and moreover the Early Learning Curriculum Framework.

Culturally Responsive Leadership (CRL)

3 hours. Online. FREE.

January 25, 9am-12pm 

This professional learning module has been designed to empower directors, assistant directors, pedagogical leaders, inclusion coordinators, and educators in coaching and leadership roles to support others in implementing culturally responsive practice. The module examines the roles of leaders as well as provides an opportunity to practice courageous conversations and coaching techniques with a case study format.

Completing Culturally Responsive Practices (CRP) module is a pre-requisite for taking Culturally Responsible Leadership.

Early Learning Curriculum Framework 
Pedagogical Leadership Module

 

5 hours. Online. FREE.

Starts on January 28

​Learn about social pedagogy and its connection to educator practice, values, perspective, the image of children, and learning environments. â€‹â€‹Understand inclusion in a broader perspective and how it impacts pedagogy and image of the child​. â€‹Discuss the complexity of change, importance of reflection in ELCC practice, and explore tools to support this work.
