Learning with Mi'kmaki
Learning with Mi'kma'ki is a new professional development opportunity for early childhood professionals in Nova Scotia. The 6-hour course is focused on learn to see the land and the natural environment through the Mi'kmaw lens and discover how to apply Two-Eyed Seeing to your ECE practice.
Saturday, June 15th, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The first 3 hours of the session will be held in the classroom at NSCECE (6208 Quinpool Rd. 2nd Floor, Halifax, NS) and the final 3 hours will be held in Point Pleasant Park.
Each participant will have a chance to win a prize: a book Mi’kmaw Moons, the Seasons in Mi'kma'ki,
by Cathy LeBlanc and David Chapman illustrated by Loretta Gould that describes traditional teachings about the moon cycles and their relation to the natural history of Mi’kma’ki on Canada’s East Coast.

If you have skills, success stories, and enjoy facilitating discussions and presenting to adult learners, let us know! Please fill out the form and tell us more about yourself. We are currently looking for facilitators who are willing to work directly with centres and deliver workshops on the topics of interest.

EYCDC Library
Since 2021, the EYCDC has had a full and flourishing collection of Loose Parts. All items are pick'n'mix and can be borrowed in as big or small quantity as you need. This collection also includes a variety of containers, baskets, tools, and mats to expand loose parts play in your classroom.
