Borrowing 

• Library membership fees are listed above and they are non-refundable.
• Limit of 12 items at any one time (no more than 6 resource items*)
• The loan period is 2 weeks.
• You may renew once for an additional 2 weeks if there are no holds on the item.
• Renewed over the phone (902) 423-7114 ext. 233 or by e-mail [email protected] Holds are limited to 3 at a time.
• Please return items in the same condition and packaging that they were in when you borrowed them.
• You may want to clean infant and toddler materials before use.
• All items should be returned clean and dry.
• Please check the contents of each package borrowed before you use it to ensure it is complete and in good condition.
• Report any missing or damaged items.
• We reserve the right to use our discretion on borrowing limits in specific circumstances.
  
  * A resource item is anything that is not a book. The limit doesn't apply to small loose parts.

Lost or Damaged Items

• If you lose an item, you need to replace it or to reimburse its value.
• Lost items must be replaced or paid for within 4 weeks. After this period, borrowing will be suspended until a resolution is reached.

Replacement Costs

• We accept good quality replacements, but please consult with library staff before purchasing items.
• A $10 admin fee will be charged on top of the value of lost or damaged items.
• An admin fee will be waived for borrowers who replace missing items themselves rather than paying for them.
• Missing pieces and packaging: once returned, each package is counted and verified complete before it is re-shelved.
• Please count each item before returning. 

We accept the following types of payments (online and in-person)

•  E-mail money transfers can be made to  [email protected]. Please include "EYCDC Library Fee".
• Visa and Mastercard are also accepted, both online and on-site.
• Cash/debit payments can be made at 6208 Quinpool Road. 
• Cheques can be made payable to Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education and mailed to 6208 Quinpool Rd, 2nd Floor, Halifax, NS B3L 1A3.
