On April 10th, we will also be offering Creating a Loose Parts Library with Aya Saito. This session will take place from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at NSCECE (6208 Quinpool Rd, Halifax).

We are excited to unveil the first of the four cultural collections that help ECEs, students, children, and families to learn about the four historical cultures of Nova Scotia. With the input of the Gaelic community, we collected and organized books for children and adults, artifacts, music, and hands on materials that invite an exploration and highlight different aspects of our shared heritage in Nova Scotia. This collection was curated by Kenneth Mackenzie, Shay MacMullin, Eamag Dhòmhnullach, and Erin MacKinnon and funded by the Department of Gaelic Affairs. You can see all materials in our online catalogue by searching for 'Gaelic'.
The books for adults highlight stories and the culture of the Gaelic people and books for children (in both languages) provide a playful invitation to exploring the language and the popular tales and beliefs.
